Out of the depths of despair
Comes a glimmer of light.
Could we but linger there
Instead of taking flight,
We would see that the emptiness,
The pain and the sorrow
Would vanish in the air
‘Long with fear of tomorrow.
We’d see that there is only now
There is no past or future.
If in the now we live our lives
There is no thought to nurture
Past hurts and dreams and memories
And hopes of fond tomorrows.
If thought did not dwell on our pain
Where would be the sorrows?
The death of thought makes room for Truth
To enter in its place,
And only Truth can set us free.
The Truth we must embrace.
